  2. telegraph and the telephone, had not manifested its basically 
  3. electric form and function until the tape recorder released it 
  4. from its mechanical trappings. That the world of sound is 
  5. essentially a unified field of instant relationships lends it a near 
  6. resemblance to the world of electromagnetic waves. This fact 
  7. brought the phonograph and radio into early association.
